Karadja is located in northwestern Iran, near Heris. The name Garadjeh is related to Karadagh. The Garadjeh is the most well-known type of Karadagh carpet (other types are Lambaran and Meschkin, for example). The basic color is generally a clear red, the field ornament is mostly beige. Garadjeh are good, tasteful, hard-wearing Persian carpets that do not deny the proximity of the Bachschayesch-Heriz region, but are clearly influenced by the region. Good, strong wool is used. Overall, solid, beautiful carpets come from Garadjeh with an extra portion of their own character.
