Veramin (also: Waramin) is located in the north of Iran, about 50 km southeast of Tehran. The proximity to the relatively wealthy capital has also influenced Varamin's weaving. They are among the higher quality carpets in Iran. The quality of Varamin carpets is quite high and robust, the weaving is almost always meticulous and precise. The most common design is the Mina Chani pattern. The warp and weft are made of cotton, and the Persian (Senneh) knot is used. Overall, Varamin belongs to the elite of Persian carpets.
