Ahar is located in the northwest of Iran in Persian Azerbaijan and is part of the very important carpet weaving center of Herzi. The warp and weft (the foundation) are made of thick cotton and the pile thread is made of thick, two-ply, very robust wool. Both the Ahar carpets that have been sold and the newer production are very popular because of their high durability. Overall, a classic Persian carpet of absolutely reliable quality.
